DuoZone™
refers to applications where DigiFlow™ is used
to independently control two zones of differential
pressure but where only one zone is animal-occupied
and the other is a surrounding zone. DuoZone™
can thus be used to provide simultaneous containment
(negative pressure) and protection (positive pressure)
or to provide a higher level of containment (two negative
pressure zones) compared with a regular SmartRack™.
Typical DuoZone™ applications include a MiniRoom™
with a SmartRack™, a MiniSmart™ within
a MiniCabinet™ or a Row Level Containment Rack
(RowZone™).
In these DuoZone™ applications the occupied
zone (i.e. cages on a SmartRack™ or a MiniSmart™)
can be controlled at either positive or negative pressure
whilst the surrounding zone can simultaneously be
controlled at either positive or negative pressure.
In addition to providing the benefits of both positive
and negative pressure adjacent zones, this technology
also allows you to have two levels of biocontainment
(two negative pressure zones) for added safety, e.g.
for BSL3+ applications.
At the same time as the pressure regimes of the occupied
and surrounding zones are being monitored and controlled
by DigiFlow™, the air flow to the occupied zone
is also being monitored and controlled. |
MultiZone™
refers to a situation where more than one animal-occupied
zone (up to a maximum of three) is controlled. For
example, in a SmartRack™ with a single BioScreen™,
two animal-occupied zones are being controlled.
Typical MultiZone™ applications include a SmartRack™
with one or two BioScreen™ cages, or two SmartRacks™
with one BioScreen™, or two or three MiniRooms™.
BioZoneGlobal’s Environmental
Monitoring Option provides continuous
monitoring and control of temperature, relative humidity
as well as controlling lighting and monitoring ammonia
levels in the exhaust air flow. Alarms can be set
to show high and low levels of temperature and relative
humidity and to show high levels of ammonia.
The status of the DigiFlow™ System is displayed
on the DigiFlow™ TouchScreen and by two indicator
lights adjacent to the TouchScreen. The green indicator
light shows the system is operating. The red indicator
light indicates that there is, or has been, an alarm
condition.
The TouchScreen display has a ScreenSaver feature
which, if activated, will result in the display going
blank after a preset number of minutes. If the TouchScreen
is in ScreenSaver mode, simply touch the screen until
the display comes on. |
